Pada awal 2024, Tencent melalui Aurora Studios sempat menawarkan proposal kerjasama terkait Horizon kepada Sony. Nama proyek ini adalah “Project Z”.
Sony menolak proposal tersebut secara resmi lewat email pada 8 April 2024. -
Upaya Negosiasi Ulang
Pada Mei 2024, Tencent mencoba kembali bernegosiasi, namun tetap terkait Horizon, menyatakan bahwa tim
Aurora sangat bersemangat dengan IP Horizon dan merasa sudah mengembangkan keahlian yang relevan lewat Project Z. -
Pergeseran ke The Last of Us
Kemudian pada Juli 2024, Sony melakukan perjalanan ke Shenzhen, China, bertemu dengan Tencent dan
Aurora Studios dengan pemahaman bahwa diskusi akan meliputi peluang kerjasama untuk The Last of Us.Namun, saat presentasi oleh Aurora, muncul slide-slide yang kembali mencerminkan gaya Horizon
(karakter perempuan berpakaian suku + armour/logam + hewan robotik/hybrid robot-binatang),
dan diduga menggunakan aset dari Light of Motiram. Ini yang membuat Sony kebingungan dan menyebut
bahwa presentasi tersebut tidak sesuai dengan yang dijanjikan sebagai diskusi tentang The Last of Us. -
Gagal Terwujudnya Proyek
Setelah pertemuan tersebut, komunikasi dan negosiasi tampaknya kandas. Tidak ada rincian lebih lanjut tentang
